District Governor (DG) Ray Freaney inducted three new Rotarians this year on his Woodbridge-Perth Amboy visit during in ambitious tour of the 82 Clubs in Rotary District 7475.  The Rotary Club welcomed (left to right) Amy Krysienski, Business Development Officer for RSI Bank,  Nancy Drumm, Township Councilwoman-at-Large and Chamber of Commerce  Membership Director,  and Marta Lefsky Darden, Director of Planning and Development in Woodbridge Township.
DG Ray Freaney spoke about District plans for this year.  He invited the Woodbridge-Perth Amboy Club to attend of the Foundation Grants workshop on September 14th, and mentioned that the Opioid Addiction Crisis was among one of the new concerns that the District intends to address.
 
Ray joined the Phillipsburg Rotary in 1996 when he wanted to become more involved in his work community.  In 1998 he became Club President and it was during that year that the world of Rotary opened up for him. He has held numerous positions in District 7470, including chairmanship of the Presidents' Ball in 2003, 2006 and 2013, coordination of the Group Study Exchange from 2011-2014 with Inda, Peru and Brazil.  He was the District Conference Chair in 2014-2015 as well as a member of the Conference Committee three additional years.  Ray has served on the District Finance and Foundation Committees multiple years and was the District Treasurer from 2014-2017. Having worked recently with the merger committee, Ray is enthusiastic about the engaged Rotarians he has met and worked with and believes the future of District 7475 is very promising.
 
Retired from a 45-year career in the chemical and bulk pharmaceutical industry, Ray spent the majority of his time as a Plant Manager.  The last three years of his career he worked in new business development.  In its inaugural year, 2004, Ray received the President's Award from Gulbrandesen Technologies.
 
The Club welcomed DG Ray Freaney with a certificate of appreciation for his visit to Woodbridge-Perth Amboy.
