November 14, 2024, was an incredible day filled with community, service, and generosity.  The annual event honored one of the most active and impactful fraternal organizations in Woodbridge Township, the Benevolent Protective Order of the Elks, which has two Clubs in Woodbridge Township, Woodbridge (Lodge #2116) and Colonia (Lodge #2282).  Mayor John E. McCormac gave the opening address. The dinner was a resounding success, and we are deeply grateful to the Elks for joining us to accept the awards.

Sponsors of the dinner were:

  • Gold Sponsor: Access Self Storage
  • Silver Sponsor: Craig's Plumbing
  • Centerpiece Sponsor: Northfield Bank
  • Valet Sponsor: Sequoia Land Design and Maintenance.
  • Award Sponsor: Montecalvo & Bayshore Family of Companies.
The tricky tray baskets were outstanding, and the grand prizes added an extra layer of excitement.  Every effort and donation contributed to support of a wonderful cause.

"Service Above Self" is the Rotary International motto and is at the heart of the organization. This event will benefit the Domestic Violence Response Team (DVRT)--made possible only with the incredible support from the community, local restaurants, and businesses. Their donations truly made it a special night.

Rotarians learned in preparing for the event that the principles of the Elks Club Members are Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity.  It was an easy choice for the Rotary Club to invite the Elks to join our efforts to support the DVRT this year.  Service Above Self is not just a motto-it's a way of life for Rotarians.

Together, we make a difference!
