This scholarship opportunity will be made available to senior high school and college students from Woodbridge Township who are pursuing a post-high school full-time course of study at an accredited college, university, trade school, or other educational institution. |
Rotary Foundation Awards 25 ScholarshipsThe Rotary Club of Woodbridge-Perth Amboy Foundation has awarded scholarships in the amount of $38,000 to twenty-five students in Woodbridge Township. This scholarship opportunity was made available to senior high school students of Woodbridge Township who are pursuing a post-high school full-time course of study at an accredited college, university, trade school, or other educational institution. “These are different times but the needs are still there. We are proud and happy that we can help some of our students.” commented Dov Ehrlich, Foundation Committee Chairperson. |
Everyone is a Winner![]() Rotary District 7475 and Raffle Chair Bob Button, who we met at a Zoom Meeting in June expressed gratitude to all participants in the 50/50 Raffle which was drawn on June 25th. A record number of clubs participated and sold a record number of tickets. Congratulations to Ralph Winter whose ticket was drawn for a third place prize of $110.00. The Rotary Club of W-PA received a check for $390.00, which will be donated to local charities, with thanks to all of our members who participated at the Club Meeting of June 18th. |
COVID19 response assists We Feed WoodbridgeBusiness owner Frank P. of Dominic’s Italian Restaurant in Avenel and Rotary Club of Woodbridge-Perth Amboy worked with We Feed Woodbridge and Councilwoman Debbie Meehan to deliver 120, hot and generous meals to seniors, as well as treat the food pantry volunteers and staff to a meal, the week of April 13th. Rotary District 7475 also awarded Woodbridge Rotarians a shipment of pre-packaged dry goods for family meals that were delivered to St. Anthony of Padua on May 2nd by our Club. The Rotary District Foundation has further awarded the Woodbridge Rotarians for their sponsorship of meal deliveries to help with a COVID19 Emergency Relief Grant of $1,000 to continue with assistance to food pantries—so more to come! Rotarians 1: Kiwanis 0: Salvation Army Wins!![]() On December 14th, the Rotary Club of Woodbridge-Perth Amboy accepted the challenge to raise more funds than the local Kiwanis Club as both clubs assisted The Salvation Army of Perth Amboy. Our Club raised $6 more, but more importantly, doubled the success of the day for the Salvation Army. Thanks to Amy, Marta, Elroy and his beautiful Grands, Dov, Ray, Erin Zirpolo, Guest Speaker Michelle E. Dickinson, Riisa (who pulled a double shift) and Monica for taking time out of their busy holiday season to help. |
Salvation Army challenge accepted![]() Lieutenant Maihri Smeaton visited the meeting of December 5th to challenge the Rotary Club to a one-day fundraising challenge to take on the Kiwanis Club. Both clubs will have a day to ring the bell and raise money for the Salvation Army of Perth Amboy. Visit Wallmart in Woodbridge on Rt. 9 between 10 am and 6 pm on Saturday, December 14th, and make a donation to help the needy--and help your fellow Rotarians defeat the Kiwanians. |
Break Into Your Life![]() Michelle E. Dickinson, local author and a TED speaker, addressed the Rotary Club about Mental Health Advocacy and Strategy. Mayor McCormac Addresses Rotary Club![]() Mayor John E. McCormac addressed the Rotary Club of W-PA as the first scheduled guest speaker of the year on Thursday, October 17th. Rotarians and guests were informed on the progress of improvements to the schools, infrastructure, senior housing, and the Township's economic growth and development. The Mayor was Club President Elroy Darden's first guest speaker of his term. Elroy has pledged to continue the tradition of connecting the Club with engaging monthly speakers in the metro Woodbridge and Perth Amboy area. |

Language Arts/English in all five middle schools hosted their own spelling bees. The top two spellers from each class were selected to participate in the school-wide spelling bee.
